I am a dedicated scientist and emerging researcher in the fields of pharmacology and biomedical research. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology, building upon a strong multidisciplinary academic foundation. I hold a Master of Science in Pharmacology from Kampala International University (Uganda), a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Trials from the University of Montpellier (France), and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology from Makerere University (Uganda).
My educational background has equipped me with extensive expertise in diagnostic and pharmacological sciences, as well as advanced wet-laboratory competencies applicable to both preclinical and clinical research including pharmaceutical technology. Through my academic training and professional experience, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of experimental design, laboratory methodologies, quality assurance and quality control systems, and translational research approaches.
I have cultivated a strong interest in the quantitative and systems-level understanding of drugs. Consequently, my research interests encompass pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, toxicology, and systems pharmacology. The transition from laboratory-based biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences to quantitative pharmacology reflects my commitment to bridging the gap between preclinical discovery and clinical application. With substantial laboratory experience, I have gained proficiency in a wide range of analytical techniques, bioassays, trouble shooting and quality-control procedures essential for pharmacological research and pharmaceutical development.
Looking ahead, my research aspirations lie at the intersection of quantitative pharmacology, fungal biology, and molecular pathogenesis. I am particularly interested in integrating mechanistic and quantitative modelling approaches with biological insights to develop predictive frameworks that address the growing global challenge of antifungal resistance and the limited availability of effective therapies against human fungal pathogens such as Candida spp. Through this work, I hope to contribute to the discovery, optimisation, and clinical translation of a novel antifungal treatment, ultimately supporting global efforts to improve patient outcomes for individuals affected by invasive fungal infections.
