Lerissa Princy Mascarenhas

MSc Student

I am currently pursuing an MSc in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Liverpool (expected in 2026). I completed my Bachelor's in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Mangalore, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore.

Following my bachelor's degree, I worked as a Registered Pharmacist at Fortis International Hospital, Bangalore, where she gained practical experience in hospital pharmacy, medication management, patient care, and working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. This experience strengthened my interest in pharmacology and motivated her to pursue postgraduate studies.

As part of my MSc programme, I am broadening my expertise in pharmacology and toxicology while developing skills in computational modelling, data analysis, and scientific programming using R. My current research focuses on applying computational modelling to investigate cytostatic and cytotoxic effects of oxidative stress in Candida albicans, enabling integration of pharmacological knowledge with quantitative analysis. Through my postgraduate training, I am building a strong foundation in research methodologies and computational techniques relevant to modern biomedical science.

I aspire to pursue a career in pharmaceutical research, Clinical trials and Drug Safety contributing to scientific advancements that improve healthcare and patient outcomes through innovative research and evidence-based practice.
